European policy-maker workshop
The European PASEO-project group
arranged a European policy-maker workshop
in Brussels on the 23rd of May 2011.
The objective of the workshop was to discuss, at a European level,
strategies to optimize promotion of physical activity among older people.
More than 80 policy makers, representing both
European and national levels, participated at the workshop.
Bridging the gap between science and practice - 3rd conference and 7th annual meeting of HEPA EUROPE
The Netherlands Institute for Sport and Physical Activity (NISB) and HEPA Europe – the European Network for the Promotion of Health-Enhancing Physical Activity – are organising the 3rd conference and 7th annual meeting of HEPA Europe.
11–13 October 2011 in Amsterdam.
Please note that abstracts must be submitted by 9th of June 2011.

For the past two years, the EAHC-funded PASEO project has tried to foster the exchange between national policy-makers, experts and researchers to optimize physical activity promotion among older people in Europe. Now we want to take the discussion to the European level.

UPDATE FROM PASEO AUSTRIA!
Designing age-friendly public spaces
in the region of Vienna
One important finding of Public Health is that only motivation to be physically active for health is not sufficient.
The current survey shows that seniors in Austria mainly do physical activity self-organized and in public space and not in organized PA and sport offers.

UPDATE FROM PASEO ITALY!
Lately there have been two Alliance Meetings by the Regional Alliance, one on the 27th April in Mira, (Venice) during which proposals have been set up by participants to develop and implement systematic actions for the promotion of physical activity and one on the 4th of May, with the purpose of assessing proposals made in the first meeting.
