Objectives
The PASEO project intends to strengthen capacities for the promotion of health through physical activity among sedentary older people in 15 nations.
Nations are represented by a scientific institution (associated partner) and (in most nations) a (non-)governmental institution (coll. Partner).
Capacity strengthening will focus primarily on building intersectional structures and intraorganisational means for the promotion of physical activity among sedentary older people.
Mechanisms to strengthen capacity are intended to be sustained after the project has ended.
The PASEO project pursues the general objective of strengthening capacities for the promotion of health through physical activity among sedentary older people.
PASEO will focus on strengthening capacities in two key ares:
Intersectional structures
(i.e. structures linking organisations across sectoral boundaries):
Strengthening capacities in this area might include 1) building national alliances of representative of organisation from different sectors committed to work on the topic of physical activity promotion among sedentary older people and 2) developing means to overcome sectoral barriers in this areas
Intraorganisational capacities
(i.e. personnel, resources, co-operations within organisations):
Strengthening capacities in this area
might include working with organisations
to quality personnel, allocate resources,
and engage in co-operation to develop
means for the promotion of physical activity among sedentary older people
